Mr. Ellis is in his 5th year as the Director of Bands at Gulf Shores Middle School and Associate Director of Bands at Gulf Shores High School. During the school day, Mr. Ellis teaching Beginning Brass, Woodwinds, and Percussion, as well as the Concert Band. In the Fall, Mr. Ellis also assists with the Marching Band.

 

A native of Enterprise, AL, Mr. Ellis graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Auburn University where he was an active member in the Auburn University Bands. During his time at Auburn, Mr. Ellis served as a Drum Major for the Auburn University Marching Band for two years, principal trumpet in the Concert Band, and member in the Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Basketball Pep Band, and Trumpet Ensemble. Before coming to Gulf Shores, Mr. Ellis taught at Beulah High School in Lee County, AL.

 

Currently, Mr. Ellis enjoys playing Trumpet in multiple local church orchestras and in the Baldwin Pops Community Band.

 

Mr. Ellis is a member of the National Band Association (NBA), Alabama Bandmasters Association (ABA), Alabama Music Educators Association (AMEA), National Association for Music Educators (NAfME) and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.
